Hello! My name is Travis Van Slooten and I want to thank you for stopping by. Around the summer of 2008 I was looking for a reliable and affordable backup solution for my computer. I always backed up my data and files weekly via an external hard drive but I wanted more “insurance” in case of a crash, theft, or fire so I set out to find another solution to safeguard against those catastrophes.

During my research, I discovered online backup solutions such as Carbonite and Mozy. You can read more about my experiences with them by reading my full reviews of them but suffice to say, I was impressed and “sold” on the idea of making online backup a part of my regular backup routine. Today I have Carbonite running on my computer and I backup to my external hard drive once a week like clock work;)

I have a lot of people in my family that use computers heavily so I started telling them about online backup services – which led to them asking me more and more questions. I was the go-to-guy for anything and everything regarding computer backup.

It dawned on me that there was probably a lot of people who could benefit from my research and experiences from using these types of backup services so I launched this site. Now my friends and family (and the rest of the world for that matter) can just visit this site for the information they need regarding various backup solutions for the home computer user.

I strive to keep this site updated as best as I can and I try to be as honest and straightforward as I can regarding the information I provide on this site but if you have any complaints or suggestions for me, please contact me! I’d love to hear from you.
